The summer
nights were deep and long
when we
were there together
discovering
the mysteries of flesh on flesh
It mattered
not who led or followed
we danced
the dance of life as one
and ever
after, our tomorrows
were built
upon the weave we'd spun
Like gossamer,
or feathers flying free
our spirits
would ascend to glorious heights
because
we'd found within the depths
the source
of ever-living light
but summer
ended
as summer
always does
and in
a sudden flash of light
we took
to flight
