Sense of Distance

Traveling the distance
flowing in and with the winds of time
ever changing time and space
and each of us within the very
atmosphere we choose to breathe.

Iíve traveled round the world
and back again; into the realms
of innocence and further yet,
when attitudes and the many moods
of human nature sought to keep me
from this flight divine.

The core of the earth
is a marvelous place
but not one that I care
to live within
and the sun that shines
so brightly in our lives
burns too brightly
to support this very
human life I am.

The stars within the indigo
of nighttime gently calling:
ah, there though I still falter
for their beams bring me
an endless uttering
of pure delight

As every sense of distance
somehow melts away from me
and I shine with them, eternally
knowing that this stardust
of their magic immortality
is mine...
