To Dance Together

Oh, how we danced together then,
two separates moving as one whole;
singing in each others ear
in sultry, whispered harmony.

We drifted then, across the skies,
with sun and moon and stars on high;
two strings upon a mighty instrument
that played one melody.

So close, that we became each other.
Dizzy, when the dance was done,
not quite knowing who was one
or if there were another there at all.

And yet with time and space and distance,
the closeness disappeared again.
Yet still we dance somehow as one
within the skies somewhere.

And yet what good the sky?
When here on earth,
I cry myself to sleep at night,
feeling I have lost it all with you...
