Crazy Weather

Crazy weather in the heartland.
Hot to cold and back again,
with nothing in between.
It didn't used to be that way.

It used to be
the might have been
we lived in balancing it all.
But then the fall.

Fall from grace, from
heights unknown
into the gloomy
twilight zone.

The measure and the balance
have been split. The mind
was never kind enough
to keep the love alive.

Lust remains to play its part.
Regenerate without the heart.
Crazy, when the haze of light
becomes too bright to bear.

West and East refuse
to reconcile. North and
South have naught to offer
but a great exile.

Crazy weather
in the heartland
of us all...
