For a While

We had it for while, didn't we?
The dream of love, the ecstasy.
We lived there so completely
for a while.

Sensuous, a timelessness
that sought no more than just
to be itself. Until past prophesies
kicked in again.

Then destiny was left behind,
for density is always blind
to loving ways that make our
living days and nights sublime.

Ego-based, the intellect refused
to just join in. And then the spin -
insanity - each time you left,
the mind kicked in.

We had it for while, didn't we?
The dream of love, the ecstasy.
We lived there so completely -
for a while, anyway...
