Rest Thee Now

Go rest thee now, without intent,
and let the dream steal into you.
The greatest dream there ever was -
this love. Rest within its gentle arms,
and feel its healing enter into you.

You and I, we've lived before.
Come and gone, yet ever living on,
in mortal sight. Our ancestry is
so much more than any human
heritage. For you and I, we come
from stars forever burning in
the indigo. And never could
the intellect alone conceive
our being.

No matter gendered wars of
opposition - you and I, we know
the worth of flight. Natural and
ever-blending in the heart
of earth's delight. We have a need,
that many others never understood.
Yet still, this need is true. And so we
reach yet once again, for the feel
of its conception.

And that is where you entered in.
They said, "It is a girl!"
and tears of purest joy
ran from my eyes. Oh yes,
at last, that glimpse of deity
reflected had been made real -
by you and me! Gently, then,
I held you there, and never
will this love-light let you go.

No matter what your life may bring,
always know that you have been
my reason to go on. You knew,
you know, and heaven-blessed,
you are becoming even more-
for infinity itself responded to
my greatest need when you
were born to me.

There are moments when man's
prejudice and jealousy seem
to be no more than overwhelming
to our heart and souls and mortal
frames. Yet you and I, we live
the love of all eternity. Knowing -
even what they say we never
knew at all. Glowing softly in
a sphere of loving tenderness.

No, not of man, my little love,
for you are the one whose birth
redeemed the heart and soul
of me. 'To know' is more important
than the knowledge that they sell
in schools. And you and I, we know
each other, tenderly, into forevermore.
Here there is no score - no win or loss.
Numbers come and go within the
ambiguity from which they stole.

Go, rest thee now, my little one,
without intent or deed, and let
the dream steal into you. The
greatest dream there ever was -
this love. Rest within its gentle arms,
and feel its healing enter into you,
complete...
