Surrender to the Storm

Your love was my lifeline.
It seemed so strong and sure.
It turned out to be no more
than gossamer that blew away
in just one gust of stormy wind.

You ran for safe cover, not caring
one bit, just what the gale, that breach
of covenant of yours, would do to me.
The months have passed, and yet
the storms still come to blow me
down.

Too tired to fight it anymore,
I finally surrender to the storm.
Let it do what it will, it really
doesn't matter anymore - for
on the day you walked away,
I died...
