The First Division

And so, in the end, I can say only this:
I chose to take the road less traveled,
while you chose the opposite. Perhaps
I should merely marvel that our paths
ever came to meet at all. And yet, instead,
I can only feel the loss of love once shared.

I will never accept your conclusions as truth;
nor can I conceive them to be right. But then,
they are your conclusions, not mine. Chances
are, that I will never understand your motivations,
for love has always been my calling. And love
knows so little of the kind of division and derision
you decided to make real.

There is deity - yet neither god nor goddess
can ever hope to encompass its entirety - for
that is the first division. And even god and
goddess have grown tired of the loneliness
involved in the opposition of that. Rather,
they would compliment each other, as it was
always meant to be.

And so, in the end, I can say only this:
I chose to take the road less traveled,
while you chose the opposite. Perhaps
I should merely marvel that our paths
ever came to meet at all. And yet, instead,
I can only feel no more than just
the loss of love once shared...
