Coming Free

A burst of spring lay in between
the storms of winter woe.
Sun shining high as if it had
no other place to go.

A touch of warmth, a scent of free.
Gathering the fantasy.
To rise again amid the icy cold.
A little something left for us to hold.

Bold, the strokes of cloud within
the sparkle of the sky. Floating on
a breeze that seemed so wise.
Meaning brushing through
an errant hair that had come loose.

She pondered life from low into the high.
Comprehension was sporadic,
yet the truth was ever nigh.
Subtly, it came within a feel of right
that always lingered on.

And life spun on. The icy Northern
winds came back again. The holidays
were lost within a stream of vagrant,
loving memories. Yet somewhere,
in between it all, another dream was
reaching to be born.

Unsought, and yet unhindered.
Rising up from deep inside the maze.
Step by step, it found the way to light.
The spell of night was glittering above.
The dream was basking in its living love.

A burst of spring lay in between
the storms of winter woe.
Sun shining high as if it had
no other place to go.

Imminent, a pause would play
that sleepy melody. Yet still,
the dream was coming free -
at last...
