Dreams of Stress

Invisible, the moving streams
of deep unhappiness.
Infiltrated dreams of stress
within the darkness
of their loneliness.

Glaring lights replaced
the glow of grace
that brought the loving
into life. The angels flew
beyond the moon
into the open arms
of happiness.

Their gods demanded sacrifice.
Once, then twice, then thrice.
Unending chains of pain remained
to demonstrate the power lurking there.
The book of hours claimed the fame
as age became unnamable disease.
Records of their greed remained.
Names that echoed through the shame
they lived.

Invisible, the moving streams
of deep unhappiness
infiltrated dreams of stress
within the darkness
of their loneliness...
