The Disappearance

Clear and bright, the end of their beginning.
Flashing lights and sirens crying out.
Death had claimed another life in shame.
Glassy eyed, he stared through everything.
He'd never meant for it to end that way.

Youth entranced in battles dancing
endlessly inside their dens of pride.
Shattering the memories of all those
loving days of yore. Life ended in
pure nightmare scenes of gore
that stole the glory in electric bursts
of sizzling white light.

He didn't understand - and now he
knew he never would. For all that
could have been was dead and gone.
Silently, a song began to sing itself
to him. Acute, the tempo and the beat
that brought his disappearance...
