Became the Last

There was a moment in the skies of time
when I was yours and you were mine.
Enchanted days of hazy ecstasy.
We played, the joy became insanity.
Lovers come and lovers go.
Yet still, somehow, I think you know
I'll never love another just the same.
For we were bound beyond all time
and named as one within the moon and sun.
Starlight flickers, sadly drawn
to all the current emptiness.
Remembering our happiness, we cry.
For emotions still resound 'tween you and I.
Pain-filled present, pleasured past.
Too soon, my love, became the last
I ever felt a touch of love from thee...
