Centered in Solemnity

The beauty of the weave was mesmerizing.
Threads shining silver in the autumn sun.
Centered in solemnity, it rested as it loved
what it had spun, even as it fed upon
the weak that came its way.

Sinister, the silent cries of victims
that bloated its indemnity in self.
Nature without consciousness.
Instincts honed into cold cruelty.
An overview enhanced by mystery.

Paralyzed, the aftershock continued.
Any breath could be the last they drew.
And yet, the beauty of the weave
still mesmerized their shiny eyes into
believing that the suffering was fair.

While hidden in a cave, the shaman sang.
True to earth, the prophecy that rang
right past the limits of the sky. One candle
burned, supplying little light. To feel
one's way along was natural. Seeing eyes
were blinded by the light and overpowered
by the shadows that they dreamed.

The beauty of the weave was mesmerizing.
Threads shining silver in the autumn sun.
Centered in solemnity, it rested in between
all life and death...
