Come and Gone

Years have come and gone amid the pain.
Every now and then love's sweet refrain
reminds me that we used to be
the kind of love that sets us free.
Now loneliness must lead the symphony.

Once upon a time, the love was real.
Drifting far away, across the fields -
a sunshine mist absorbed the bliss
and stole our everlasting kiss away.
The blame just isn't working anymore.

An agony, that walking out the door.
Heart strings snapped. An icy blast
of shock and agony. The years
have come and gone amid the pain.

Every now and then love's sweet refrain
reminds me that we used to be
the kind of love that sets us free.
Now loneliness is all that's left
to lead the symphony...
