Fear of Death

The here and now, the there and then,
all coming to a point of being one.
Sun alight or stars that shine within
the indigo. All pointing to the brightness
of the light. Birth and flesh and daring do
that rides into the never knew. It lives
within a migrant fear of death.

The things of wealth go on beyond
the beating of the drum. The bugle plays
a feel of emptiness into the air, as guns
of twenty-one try to salute. But then,
oh always then, the coffin's lowered into
shifting sands of earthen immortality.
And She responds in ways a reasoned
mind can't tame.

Heritage was never made of blame.
Without their past, we'd never have been born.
The time has come to put away the scorn
that too long lay within a spore, hereditary.
For each of us becomes the life we live.
Hard and cold, too oft' unfeeling.
Left reeling at a simple touch of love.

Lived and all too soon forgotten.
Sexual yet unbegotten.
Seeds implanted by insanity.
While internally, we bleed into
another endless day of what
the press now names reality.

Terrorism at its base.
Implanted by a hasty glaze
of eyes that only ever sought
success. As if a thing could e'er
replace the love that every being
seeks to live within - filled full.

A pull. A tug. Another giving up
and giving in to weakened powers
of a hierarchical order. Spent
too quickly, without meaning.
Pleasure sought, but not receiving.
Sexual and sensual, become a base disease.

While deep within, the truth of feelings
spin another tale. Extraordinary, where
the things beheld have always failed.
For once, just feel its vast reality.
Love. The undefined. Approached
but never held within the zoom
of any focus.

Withering, the yellow seeps
into their photographs.
They never found a way to live
within the battered aftermath.
Children born and loved and yet
too often pushed aside; as all the will
contained within the outer world
found a way to sway the reasons why.

No matter all the surgery, their age
would find a way to matter.
As wisdom burst the bounds
they willed to be. And deep emotions,
still ingrained within each cell of flesh,
insisted on their utter honesty -
at every level. While deep within,
the beveling went on.

At every turn, they came upon
another vast appeal. Live the dream
and make it into real. Angels hovered
deep within their sleep. While there,
the feel of deity ran deep. They wandered
through the endless days of sunlight,
always wondering what great essential
feel was missing still, within their lives.

The here and now, the there and then,
still coming to a point of being one.
Sun alight or stars that shine within
the indigo. All pointing to the brightness
of the light. Birth and flesh and daring do
that rides into the never knew. It lives
within their migrant fear of death...
