Fearsome Fall

They claim to love.
Yet by the very actions born
of their unsought beliefs,
it can't be so.
What terrible suffering
we've all grown from.
Power warped the best
that any one of us could be.
Easing into minds as if
some ardent mystery
were covered over.
Truth hidden, held for too long
within hands that are unworthy
and unclean. The tale
that they hold would prove
the sacredness of yet
another dream.
Yet there is an omnipresence
that they fear.
Its essence the feminine tense.
Oh, mother of us all.
Grant that all may find the truth,
within this fearsome fall
of power's thrall...
