Into Despair

The night is long and cold without you here.
An emptiness wraps round my every fear.
The spirits of the night are drawing near.
To sleep. To dream. They always interfere.

And then I see you there.
Wrapped around by family.
Enclosed within a sick insanity.
With an expression of an inner suffering.

Sinking back into yourself.
Dying, step by step.
Lying, as the depths begin
to take their awful toll.

A shadow falling on the wall.
As if you weren't really there at all.
No brightness left within your aura.
Love has left; the light has gone astray.

Night and day remain the same.
Long and cold, the nightmares reign.
If only he had held her loving dear.
The purpose of your life becomes unclear.

Falling in the gravity
of all your gross depravity.
The emptiness drifts back
into despair...
