Moved Forward

The background moved forward
and took center stage.
Moss roses in colors of red.
With shadows providing
a vitreous swell of relief.
The paper was dissolving in the ink.
Sent messages had fallen o'er the brink.
Muddying the waters of the mighty internet.
Like flies that lingered in the spider's nest.
A tale told of how two strangers met
and fell in love within the chasm
of the strands of cyber-space.
They hadn't really met.
Not face to face.
Their fantasies were all that
ever really interlaced.
While bonds of flesh and blood
held them in place by their
belief in gravity. And all they
really felt was just a one-armed
chastity. Sensations came awake.
They never knew what was at stake.
Until the mirror shattered in the wake
of passion sent. When the background
moved forward and took center stage.
Moss roses in colors of red.
With shadows providing
a vitreous swell of relief
as the wires went dead...
