Shining Brighter

Walking in a haze, a maze
that seemed to have no end.
Mirrored walls that captured light
and sent the eyes into a mortal spin.
Created to confuse the sycophant.
A mist arose, quite unforeseen.
It was like walking in a dream.
Searching for the source
that burned so bright.
Obsession pushing out into the light.
Reaching for the center of the maze.
Willing it, until the craze became
somehow ambivalent. Just then
the mist, the haze would always
enter in again. Images were moving
there. Sunlit spark of golden hair.
Deep, the glimpse of eyes within
a gaze that others thought a sin.
So much loss was gained just then,
in that awakening. As yet again,
a weakening came forward from
the strength once held so dear.
Quivering, yet traveling on.
Like shivering within an icy storm.
Searching for the true and warm
insistence of the mother love she was.
Forcing herself past the ranks
of hordes of soldiers, as the blank
of emptiness was finally filled full.
That dire news was never hers.
Nor was she e'er their messenger.
Ultimately intimate and personal,
this quest must be fulfilled.
Walking in a haze, a maze
that seemed to have no end.
Mirrored walls that captured light
and sent the eyes into a mortal spin.
Her mother's daughter, turning then
into her daughter's mother.
Thus centered in a worth of womb,
there could not be an other.
Nourishing the nourishment.
An inner need that lived beyond
the battle of men's seeds of need.
Seeking once again the womb of life.
The essence and the source of light
and life. Walking in a haze, a maze
that seemed to have no end.
There really was no end in sight.
She let herself become the light.
Her essence shining brighter
than the sun...
