The Other Side of White

Sweet and solemn.
A satin sadness in his smile.
Tears hidden in the scope
of his survival.
Searching for an energy
that might bring a revival.

He believes no one can see
the grief he bears.
His shoulders slump
just when he leaves.
Every time he thinks
there's no one there.

Sweet and solemn.
A satin sadness in his smile.
He lingers for a while
within the memories
that loving always bring.

Unwilling to face the reality
he chose to make his life.
He sought another kind of light.
Prosperity amid another
drugged and drugging high.
Bah humbug, there it is again -
the other side of white...
