To Settle In Again

And it all begins to settle in again.
Disengaging oneself from the worst of the past.
Believing that this time the loving might last.
Never quite abandoning the hope.
Your heart is finally healing.
Your soul is on the mend.
You know how many tears have fallen
somewhere round the bend.
And you wonder if it ever really mattered.
The pain of unity and separation.
The stain of the insanity that came.
The bouts of others awful indignation.
The depth and scope of all the falling rain.
And it all begins to settle in again...
