Validating

Complex but yet easy to behold.
A mystery, invisible but bold.
A tale of the life of their emotions.
Validating their insanity.

Despair - each time she reached it,
it was in a deeper pool.
The misted light could only be
the clouding of the moon.

Secrets kept and then uncovered.
Each perspective startling and new.
Until the colors of the rainbows
all turned blue.

The kings were formed of ebony.
The queen was alabaster.
The pawns were never heard or seen.
They lived their lives sequestered
in the halls of ancestry.

Parents, children - moved beyond
the edges of the little pond. Growing,
both in number and in thought.
Compromising ancient schools
that taught them one and one
could only equal two.

It was decried that they should
never reach the secret mystery.
Nor hold the future as it turned into infinity.
While wealth and stealth walked hand
in hand within the haunted woods.

Overgrown and undulating.
Strangling vines were overtaking
all the flowers there. The earth
was green and yet it felt so bare.
Sun shining in the afternoon.
Teasing the meandering of moon.

Then the rush. Wind whipping up in
gusts that brought the cold of pouring rain.
She touched it through the window pain
and thought she knew it well.
Deflecting its reflections to eternity
and then back into her.

When once again, that great despair
began to whisper in her ear. For all
that she'd held dear had gone away.
The choice was hers, to go or stay.
It never made a difference either way.

Complex but yet easy to behold.
A mystery, invisible but bold.
A tale of the life of their emotions.
Validating their insanity...
