Without Them Here

Shadows falling, calling me to move.
Indentations turning into grooves.
Faded casts of days long past
are dwindled by the power of the blast.

Long ago and far away,
the elves and faeries came to play.
I can't abide this world
without them here.

Magic glanced,
the willows danced.
Sun sprites spinning images
within the ripples lingering
upon the peaceful pond.

Slow, lapping movements
playing with my toes.
A simple mystery
that seemed to know
I needed so
to have it there.

It bows. I can't imagine
where it goes.
The curtains closed.
The long torn screen
erased itself and fled
to the unknown.

Where long ago and far away,
the elves and faeries came to play.
I can't abide this world
without them here...
