You Asked

You asked me who I was.
I told the truth.
You used the information
to expose my tingling nerves.
And then the electricity came through.
An internet affair.
In innocence, I trusted your typed words.
And after all was written, I found out
it wasn't really you at all.
Stroking the keys.
A mystery that let me down
as time and space moved on.
You didn't care.
You never dared.
Typed words, so sweet,
that never could be lived.
My heart was bared.
It broke for real.
You asked me who I was.
I tell the truth...
