Distant Separation

Like walking in our sleep,
we come around another bend.
Dozing on our feet,
just following another trend.
Some part of us is screaming.
Deep inside, it's breaking out.
Another part keeps dreaming.
Wondering what it's all about.
Life moving on beyond our reach or will.
No matter that we're holding very still.
I miss the days we used to lay together.
Creating poetry within a gentle, feathered touch.
I never knew I needed you so much.
Time flies by. We breathe the sky.
In distant separation of the love
that we once lived and breathed
as one...
