Paradox in grief compressed
relief of tears at last expressed
anger at the loss involved
sustained, the pain at last resolved

within the gentle motion flowing
energy released and growing
evolution's understanding
revolution's cause demanding

movement - and at last my father cried
for pain endured as spirit questioned, why
they stayed together through the endless years
of battles fought amid the many fears

and all the men in all their stifled lives at last rejoice
because one man at long last found his voice
in grief - the loss of mother, lover, wife
finds peace in turning circles of his life

and harmony restored the balance
the urge to rise to one more dance
invisible support surrounding
emotions moving, life abounding

allowed to grieve for life denied
allowed to crumble and to cry
to reach the love so long entombed
within devouring mother's womb

emotion owned at last will be
the unknown friend who sets them free…
