Dichotomies

I long for love's embrace
yet there is no one here to hold
and nights become no more
than just dichotomies of days

Days spent in the ruse
of every action that we think
that we must take
while nights unmake
our solitary fortitude

as the moon grows bright
and the stars begin to take to flight
reminding us that light abounds
within the darkness all around

and dreams come true
as we break through
the mists of all illusion
to find that love is waiting

here
upon the threshold
of all dreams . . .
