Seeking brightness
spirit drifts
through shadowed realms of dream
where nothing is as it would seem
in light of day

and ghostly figures ponder
in ecstatic wonder
the beauty of the galaxies
floating in the universal seas

while starlight sends
the glimmer of a friend
to comfort me
and all I see is taken in
in awe

for I have opened to the night
and found spirits burning bright
within the shadows
and now an elven glow
like sunset on the aspens shows

that in the end
the night would only be our friend
encountered when the world of day
rests it weary brightness down
to sleep
