Fear, it permeates the air we breathe
twines itself inside, just like a snake
constricting every breath we take
each time we just allow ourselves to feel

and we're told we must conceal
this twisting, turning
churning deep inside
for to live within this day and age
means never to feel fear
even in this state
of our supposed liberation

while inflationary fear just builds
when all we really need to do
is take a breath and walk right through
to find the love we crave is real

waiting there, for us
just on the other side
of fear's illusion . . .
