Missing You

So tell me, with the sky so blue
how can I be missing you?
This perfect day, when lovers stroll
arm in arm, hearts overflow

when love and life and joy abound
yet you and I cannot be found
The breeze, so gentle, touches skin
heated by the sun, what sin

could come of love so sweet and strong?
What evil lives in loverís song
that you would run so fast, so far
as evening dawns, the loverís star

will glitter with the empathy
of others joined in ecstasy
yet you would leave me here alone
with paper, pen, and lonely poem

So tell me, with the sky so blue
how can I still be missing you?
