Never-Never Land

Enchanting hours
spent in the power
of magic in the making

Colors swirling
in chaotic swells
of tidal waves
that crash upon
the shore of evermore

Fear, a quickening heat
of beating heart
yet deeper still
a fire starts to burn
as heat demands
that it command the day

but now that night has fallen
like a blanket o'er our souls
and springtime breezes usher in
the cool and growing scent
of new mown grass

the pressure eases off
as in silence we begin to drift
to never-never land
for never have we ever, ever
loved like this before . . .
