what is it we should do
when all our anger at ourselves arises?
as we become more and more aware
of what it was that held us back
deny the truth of its existence
and thus allow it to gnaw away, unseen,
at the very foundations
of who we have become?
we push it out into the world
where in the end it harms
even those who mean the most to us?
allowing it its purpose in our lives
can we somehow use it
to push us through the barriers of fear
that always held us back
for to see
it in the light of day
relieves it of its mystery
and at last we can transform its mighty power
the kind of love that heals the world
its wisdom all-encompassing
we dared to light
one candle in the darkness
of our being
