A Seed of Life

Life is pain
in cycles, waves
a bloody stain
that darkness craves

Screams that echo
in the night
rage that grows
with no respite

God id dead
and life is damned
the stain is read
the whiteness banned

an inner burning
eats away
emotions churning
as we pay

for crimes committed
in the past
and love omitted
in the vast

uncaring structure
man-made fate
as power's stature
thus negates

the good, the right
and leaves just pain
as demons fight,
unearthly strain

tears apart
what once was whole
and pierces heart
deflating soul

while living blackness
takes its place
infectious sickness
from this trace

a seed of darkness
slowly growing
becomes the starkness
never knowing
love
