Shock's Denial

She drifts, as if incorporate
lost within a need she can't define
searching for a love she thought divine
that disappeared within a misty
moment out of time.

Restless, pacing, caged, undone
as life spun of the very best intentions
plays ironic games of turn about
while a voice inside her head
just screams and shouts
at the injustice of it all.

There is a rage that gathers more
and more unto itself
seeking to release an unknown need
that simply can't be satisfied
but no relief is found.

Dizzying, these undeniable yet real
unending rounds of deep depression
where nothing seems to move
and nothing that she does
can make a difference.

For he is gone
yet life goes on
as she wonders,
simply wonders:
how will she . . . ?
