Early, early morning
not quite night,
yet not quite light
a hush lies in the air
of life suspended in between
the costumes that we wear

Stars are fading
as heaven's heights
come down to touch the ground
most are sleeping
in the round of dreamy seas

Silence whistles in my ears
a vibratory high
demanding nothing
for stardust has arrived
to soothe the many cares
of life away

and so I sleepwalk
and I write
of what it's like
to be alone
in this world in between
the night and day
