Soft and Silent Power

You have a soft and silent power all about you
so unlike the strength most men exude
for you have lived the many days and hours
of your life straight from the heart
no matter what the world said you ought to do

I fear the pain that came before
of men that lied and tried to score
with words and moves of love
that meant no more than lust

yet even as I fear
I feel your arms encircle me
kissing first my head and then my brow
and slowly gently moving down
kissing even tears away

as silently, your sound surrounds
and resonates with me
bringing stillness
like a hush between two breathes
just before a song begins to sing itself

and we look into each other's eyes
to see our souls arise
and move in sync . . .
