To Find You There

I look into their faces
and see their masks
of insignificance
that they hold so grandly
up before the true
of who they are

I feel their loneliness
growing, feeding on the dark
of all that they refuse
to come to know
about themselves

I turn and walk away
alone again
far from the crowded places
that speak so loudly now
of only emptiness

and seek one space
one place
one moment out of time
where I am full
and wish no more than this
to find you there . . .
